“(…) On parla d’un pavillon particulier pour la Norvège. Nous mimes en avant toutes les raisons, qui devaient faire rénoncer à cette idée, principalment par rapport au commerce sur la méditerranée. Les deux paysans, qui se trouvaïent dans le comité, étaient de notre avis, aussitôt qu’ils apprirent, qu’il fallait augmenter les impôts pour entretenir la paix avec les puissances Barbaresques; et om remit cet objet à la décision du Roi. Nous avons même annoncé que S.M. se prêterait à adopter le lion Norvégiene sur le pavillon suédois, et on en a paru très satisfait.” 1
